A broad program filled with high quality research

Scientists from over 30 nations have sent in 350 abstracts of an overall very high quality for the International Symposium on Fish Nutrition and Feeding (ISFNF). The organizing committee has had a tough job selecting the 80 to present their research before the audience.

Torbjørn Åsgård, head of national organizing committee– Judging by the profile of the incoming abstracts, sustainable feed production and fish health in relation to nutrition seem to occupy many a scientist’s minds, says Torbjørn Åsgård of Nofima. He’s head of the national organizing committee for ISFNF 2012, which takes place in the town of Molde in Norway 4-7 June.

In particular what stands out within sustainability is the search for new resources that can increase the raw material basis of production of aquafeeds, and smarter combinations of the resources available.

Åsgård is expecting a conference of high scientific standard that deals with a wide range of species. All large and many smaller aquaculture nations will be represented, spreading over all continents of the world.

The conference is being hosted by Nofima along with the Aquaculture Protein Centre (APC), the National Institute of Nutrition and Seafood Research (NIFES), the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science (NVH) and the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (UMB).
